To introduce people to the power and fullness of Jesus Christ, to equip them to be His mouthpiece and His hands and feet on this earth, and then reproduce the process in others.
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call." -Acts 2:38-39
Throughout its history, The Pentecostals of The Woodlands has been a relevant and effective conduit for the power and grace of God in reaching our community. This congregation is connected to a purpose that is vibrant and biblical. We understand that the New Testament church is not about buildings, it is about people! It is the priority of The POW to meet the spiritual needs of this community—to the elder as well as the child, to every individual without regard to gender, race, or social status. There are many facets to The Pentecostals of The Woodlands commitment to reaching The Woodlands and surrounding areas. Events such as our inspiring Christmas program, our adventurous Vacation Bible School, and groundbreaking music and worship, are strategically planned for the express purpose of serving the community and strengthening the church family. Not only is it important that The POW bring the Gospel to every neighborhood, but we are also committed to ministering to every age demographic. The dedicated Sunday School staff communicates weekly the Word of God powerfully to children of all ages. EmPOWered youth ministries, made up of junior-high and senior-high students, are very active in empowering our youth through healthy fellowship and vibrant worship. As well, Bible studies—at the church, in individual homes, and throughout the community—are conducted weekly to equip a range of adults whether married, single, or parents. In addition to our calling and responsibility to The Woodlands and surrounding areas, The POW also is committed to being a globally-minded church. As a result of this conviction, The POW has an active missions program currently supporting missionaries worldwide and even some here in America. All the ministries of this church are a reflection of its belief in the restorative power of grace and a biblical mandate to share the life-changing truth of the Gospel. Finally, The POW envisions itself as a multicultural, multi-generational church. We understand that the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ was promised to every tribe and to every nation (Revelation 5:9). Many people remark how refreshing it is to come and worship in a church that is diverse in race, age, and culture. In short, The POW is a dynamic, engaging community of believers from all walks of life, committed to sharing the Gospel with all through a variety of activities, programs, and events so that “whosoever wills” can have their spiritual needs met.As we continue to invest resources into reaching people in The Woodlands, the surrounding area & beyond, we pray that The Pentecostals of The Woodlands can make a Kingdom impact at a global and local level. We have a passion to continue growing and impacting lives and to reach every person we possibly can with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
